Accra Hearts of Oak's management has been forced into a humiliating U-turn over their 100% hike in ticket prices as they have reverted to the old prices.

Hundreds of angry fans of the club charged on the management on various social media platforms on Tuesday accusing them of extortion and exploitation following the price hikes.

The anger and resentment forced the management to perform the U-turn on Tuesday night following a management meeting that looked at the backlash since the shocking 100% increment was announced.

The recovering Phobians have enjoyed massive support from their fans since the start of the season and earned a whopping 60, 000 Cedis in their season opener.

But the loyal fans were shocked on Tuesday when their loyalty was breached with the announcement of the hikes in the face of the economic woes in the country

Hearts announced a 100% increase in the prices of tickets for their home matches at the Accra Sports Stadium following their excellent start to the season.

Tickets which stood for GHC5, GHC10 and GHC15 was to go for GHC10, GHC20 and GHC30 respectively from Sunday.

The ticket will now stay at GHC5, GHC10 and GHC15.

The Phobians have enjoyed massive following in their opening two matches and believe the fans will troop to the stadium to cheer the team as they host lowly-ranked Bechem United.

The fears over the economic situation in the country and the immense desire to fill the stadium with fans could have been defeated by the massive hikes.

Hearts of Oak are now second on the table with seven points from three matches.
