Ghana’s oldest existing football club, Accra Hearts of Oak continued with their media interaction preceding league matches with the introduction of four new forward players at the club’s secretariat in Accra on Monday.

Managing Director, Neil Armstrong- Mortagbe who addressed the press warned some media outfits who have been fabricating stories about the club to check their facts and figures before coming out with publications and radio reports.

He noted that lies and other negative news does not do both the press house and the club any good, but rather tarnish the image and reputation of both.

“Fabrications arouse our supporters, so those media houses must put a stop to it and lets help ourselves to develop” he advised.

He briefed the media on the stake holders meeting which was held in very good spirit and ended very successful as other Phobians were peeved for not being invited, and said more of such programmes had been planned for others to participate.

The MD of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club hinted about the injury situations of some top players of the club notably Moro Abubakar, the captain who is to undergo surgery as well as Obed Ansah and Okoro who problems have taken long to heal and Romeo Agban advised to rest for his on and off situation.

According to Neil Armstrong- Mortagbe, Hearts’ only player at the CHAN 2014, Nuru Sulley who excelled and now wanted by other top sides is coming back to play strongly and expects nothing but victory in the next league game against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs.

He said winning the last game away against Aduana means the players want to win back the confidence of the supporters and urged the fans to come out to cheer them on to win.

“We are focused on wining every game, despite the point’s gap. We hope to win the league this season or next season. If we do not win, it is not a failure, first or second is an improvement upon last season when we were fifth” he stressed.

The man who is trying to restore the Phobian glory introduced four new players to the media. They are Mustapha Abdul Manan from Asokwa Warriors in Kumasi, an attacking midfielder, Ezekiel Tetteh, a striker from Okwawu United who also played briefly for St. Mirren, Gerald Odupong Wellington, also a striker formerly of the club’s nursery side, Auroras and Obuasi Ashgold as well as Ivorien Edikeu Tnede Beronger who joined the Phobian family from Lazig FC of Georgia.

All the new players expressed their joy in signing for Accra Hearts of Oak and promised to put out their best to help the club win laurels.

Meanwhile, plans are advanced to organize elections for the National Chapters Committee (NCC) in mid March.
