Hearts of Oak statement on Kwaku Adusei's death

Former Premier League champions Hearts of Oak have issued a press statement following the death of one of the club's most vociferous supporters, Kwaku Adusei aka 'Kanawu'.

PRESS STATEMENT

KWAKU EDUSEI KANAWU PASSES ON

It was with great shock and heavy heart that the Board of Directors and Management of Accra Hearts of Oak SC Limited received the painful and heart-rending news of the sudden death, in Kumasi, of one of our staunchest ever supporters, Kwaku Edusei, alias Kanawu, after a short illness. The entire Phobian Fraternity, and, indeed, the world of Ghana Football, has lost a rare gem who consistently generated a huge dose of humorous and engaging enthusiasm into Ghana Football. What a big big blow!

Kanawu, as we fondly called him, immediate past Public Relations Officer [PRO] of the Ashanti Regional Chapters Committee, passed on at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he had been rushed the previous night.

Kwaku Edusei was the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the National Chapters Committee during the tenure of current Hearts of Oak Managing Director, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe. Until his sudden demise, he was a regular panelist on Hello FM in Kumasi as a spokesperson for our dear club.

Ahead of the preparation and publication of an official program for a befitting farewell for this illustrious son of Hearts of Oak and Ghana Football, a Hearts of Oak delegation made up of Ashanti Regional Chapters Committee Executives and Patrons have visited the family of our late comrade.

On behalf of the entire Hearts of Oak family, we, hereby, express our deepest condolences to the family of Kwaku Edusei and the entire Sports Broadcasting fraternity.

We pray for the blissful repose of his loving soul in the bosom of the Almighty. Kanawu, Precious Devoted Phobian and servant of Mother Ghana, Rest in perfect peace!
