Accra, Feb 22, GNA - The management board of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has ordered its striker, Louis Agyemang to resume full-scale training with immediate effect or face the relevant sanctions.
Agyemang, a key member of the team that won the 2004 Confederation Cup has been absent at training sessions as well as other competitive matches for over three weeks now.
The player has played only one out of the five matches in the Coca Cola Top Four Tournament.
According to the management, the player sought permission to embark on trials with Bundesliga side, Armenia Bielefield in Germany from January 24 to February 1, and has only reported once for training since his return.
A statement signed by Mr Ashford Tettey-Oku, Administrative Manager of the Club copied to the GNA Sports, said the player has also not made himself available for club assignments, hence his absence in the Super Cup match against Enyimba Club of Nigeria last Sunday.
The statement said the attitude of the player constitutes a breach of contract and the available sanctions under both the Club and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will take its due application on the player if he continues to be absent at the club's training.
Hearts and Agyemang have for the past weeks being engaged in contractual problems after the player refused to sign the Club's 2005 CAF Champions League card with his demand for a specific amount of money from the club.
The GNA Sports has gathered that the player whose contract with the Club is due to expire in June, thinks otherwise as he claims his contract with the Club has ended.
The player is said to be demanding an amount of 150 million cedis before renewing his contract, a situation which caused a stalement in his romance with the club.
According to the information, the Club and the player were on the verge of trashing out the issue few hours before they emplaned for Nigeria, but they had to call off the negotiations as both parties could not find a meeting point.
