Hearts will fall at Kpando - Lions' chairman

Accra, July 30 - GNA - Mr Julius Osai, chairman of the National Supporters Union of Heart of Lions Football Club said there is no way Hearts would escape defeat in their 11th week Kinapharma Premier League match slated for the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 3.

Speaking to the GNA Sports on Wednesday, the chairman said the rank and file of the supporters of the team expect nothing but victory and they would therefore not compromise on their determination to maintain their home invincibility.

He said "the lions have been badly wounded by the loss to Bofoakwa at Sunyani last Sunday" and would go all out to add Hearts to their list of preys in order to remain at a respectable position on the standings. Mr Osai said, "it will send a wrong signal to our large army of supporters if we play it soft against Hearts and lose the second match on the trot," adding that Heart of Lions are in the premiership to stay and the best way to ensure that is to tackle all matches with utmost seriousness.

The supporters' chairman said while the technical team is strategizing to make sure that the players outplay Hearts, they as supporters would offer the team moral and spiritual support to induce the highest level of performance from them.

He said as usual, there would be borborbor music to spur the players on and assured those who would travel from other parts of the country to watch the match of the warmest reception before, during and after the match.

"We want to take advantage of the return of premier league action to Kpando and open the town to the outside world and borborbor music and dance are part of our culture so we must showcase them during matches."

Mr Osai said the league has compelled hoteliers in the town to upgrade their facilities, adding that there would be decent accommodation for would-be visitors who would wish to arrive early for matches.

"It is our determination to play well and attract corporate partnership with some of the big companies in the country and a sure way of securing such a deal is to win on Sunday and establish ourselves as a force with a great deal of attraction that would reward sponsorship relationships with excellent results," the chairman added.
