High Commissioner donates to Black Stars

The Acting High Commissioner of Ghana in South Africa, Sylvester Parker-Allotey, has donated some food items to the Black Stars ahead of their departure to Zambia to face the Africa champions on Friday.

Parker-Allotey donated the items to the squad on Wednesday after they ended their five-day training camp in South Africa.

The Black Stars were in camp in Johannesburg to prepare for their 2014 World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo in Ndola on Saturday.

Parker-Allotey, who watched the Black Stars' first training session on Sunday, says he wants to boost the team to beat the Zambians to pave their qualification to the next World Cup.

"This is our small contribution to boost the Black Stars to beat our opponents on Saturday," Parker-Allotey said.

"We are praying for you and we are confident that you will beat the Zambians on Saturday."

A release from the GFA Communication office copied to GNA Sports said the Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah received the items on behalf of the squad.

President of the Ghana Football Association, (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi thanked Mr. Parker-Allotey for his support to the squad since their arrival in South Africa.

"Your support for the Black Stars since we arrived here on Sunday has been very very helpful. We are very grateful," Nyantakyi said.

The Black Stars will leave Johannesburg on Thursday for Ndola where the match against Zambia will be played.**
