Cape Coast, March. 6 GNA - Kade Hotspurs maintained their leadership in the national Middle League when they beat Wa Real United 3-1 in their league match played at Robert Mensah sports stadium on Saturday. With this feat Hotspurs now have nine points while Real United lie at the bottom of the league table with no point.
It was Real United who opened fire right from the blast of the referee's whistle by putting pressure on the league leaders and no wonder they spilled the first blood when in the 10th minute, a hard pressed defender of Hotspurs deflected the ball into his own net.
The early goal spurred on Hotspurs into the game and following series of attacks in their opponents goal area, midfielder Owusu Ansah beat an offside trap to level up matters in the 20th minute for the much needed eqauliser.
Hotspurs increased their tally to 2-1 in the 35th minute through a penalty expertly taken by Owusu Ansah.
They continued to pile pressure on their opponents and it came as no surprise when right winger, Salas Atipoe increased the scores to 3-1 in the 40th minute.
When the second half resumed, both teams played an uncompromising game but failed to produce any goals in the half.
