A management member and former Kumasi Asante Kotoko winger Rev. Osei Kofi has threatened legal action against some management members of the for lying about his health in a purported action to prevent him from traveling to United Kingdom for the club's crowning by International Football Agency IFFHS as the best African club of the century.
Osei Kofi revealed in an interview that he and other two persons Mr. Benjamin Nti, a management member and the club's midfielder Jordan Opoku were set to represent the club at the Hurlingham Club Ranelagh Gardens (Fulham), London on Tuesday May 11th 2010 but there was a sudden twist of events when some members of the management conspired for him to be left at home and consequently told the organisers that he (Rev.Osei Kofi) has been banned from flying on medical ground. He said this happened after he had submitted every document including his passport numbers necessary for him to make the flight to Mr. Ben Nti.
The Reverend Minister said he has a strong believe that all these event are taking place because of his recent criticism of the current management for been fraudulent and wasting huge sums of money on juju for the club to win its matches instead of planning strategically, what he has been admonishing for.
"I will have to wait for them to return from UK and then consult my lawyers about the issue.Whoever is behind this rot of tarnishing my image would not go scot free. I have never been admitted to the hospital for the past 10 years so where from this ungratefulness" he said sorrowfully.
Meanwhile the former Black Stars winger and the triple Olympian is working seriously on his book set to be presented to the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu and intend entitling it "Why Kotoko is Retrogressing". He also lamented on why the club has failed to even get mini stadium in its 75 years of existence and blamed it on selfish and money conscious management style.
Asante Kotoko who have been booted out of the African Champions League already this year play Accra Great Olympics tomorrow at the Baba Yara Stadium in the last round of the Glo premier league.
