I intend to continue working hard – Yaw Yeboah

Ghana youth midfielder Yaw Yeboah says he aims to continue working hard to hit higher heights ahead of the 2015 World Youth Cup in New Zealand in late May.

Speaking on GTV’s Sunday Night Live, Yeboah, who was voted the best player at the just ended 2015 African Youth Championships, noted that there are other players better than himself, adding that he is not taking his place in the team for granted.

“There are players who are better than me and so I cannot rest on my oars and think that my place is safe. I have to work even harder so that I can excel in New Zealand.”

Yeboah, who scored twice as Ghana defeated Mali 3-1 to win bronze in Senegal, revealed that Lionel Messi is the player he strives to emulate, noting that the Argentina captain is, in his view, the best player in the World.

“For me, Messi is the best player in the world and I am not saying that because I once trained with him. He has everything and so he is the player I am always trying to emulate.”
