In form Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has brushed aside calls that he is gunning for the goal king of the season adding that, he might be scoring all the goals for the team, but he has no vision of winning the goal king title.
Fiamenyo who has hit top form for the Phobians since the league commenced has scored all five goals for the Phobians in their three matches, grabbing a double brace in the process.
At the moment, he is the leading goal scorer of the First Capital Plus Pemier league, but that does not seem to excite the bulky striker.
“The well-being of the team and the club as a whole is what really matters to me at this point. Yes I am leading the goal king race but my team is somewhere in the 8th position and I don’t think that is a good thing for me. I have seen strikers win goal king yet their clubs are do not do well in the league.”
“That is not what will make me happy, I want Hearts of Oak to win as many matches as possible in order to move into the top four and remain there”, Fiamenyo mentioned in an interview with sportscrusader.com.
He added that he will start dream of the luxury of the goal king title once his club manages to take the top position on the league table and stretch it to an appreciable limit.
“We are not there yet, so it’s too early to talk of personal targets. All I want is for the team to win most of its matches.”
