Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Teye Partey hopes to gain greater continuity at Almeria to realise his dream of becoming like Ivorian Yaya Toure.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian moved to Almeria early this week on loan from Atletico Madrid and has traveled to Thailand with his club on pre-season.
“When I was little I liked Steven Gerrard of Liverpool but now I think I look more like Yaya Toure. He's a great player, strong, long runs and I would like him,” Partey told Peru.com.
“In any team, you have to suffer and struggle, to me is not new, but, any way, I think this year everything will be good for the club and for me.”
Partey added: “I like that the team has the ball, touch it, you press and has depths. I like to shoot from distance, always keep going and to be the best you have to score goals, the best are those that do, so that's why I try to shoot.”
Partey netted five goals from midfield in 33 Segunda division games for Real Mallorca last season where he was on loan from Atletico.
