The Ghana international has expressed satisfaction with life at Stamford Bridge, adding that he is ready to give his all.

Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman has heaped praise on manager Jose Mourinho for his warm reception after joining the Blues on a five-year deal last month.

The 21-year-old was a major subject of transfer rumours, following reports of interest from a host of top European sides including Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid, after impressing for Augsburg in the German topflight.

“My relationship with Jose Mourinho has been outstanding from day one and I hope it continues throughout my stay at Chelsea,” Baba said in a ‘thank you’ message published on the official website of his former Ghanaian club Dreams FC.

“Again, I wish to put on record that a lot of thought went into the choice that I made in joining Chelsea.

“I love this club. I am a professional footballer who believes in fighting for the best and that’s what I intend to do here.”

Back from international duty after featuring in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Rwanda in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, the Tamale-born could be set for his Chelsea debut on Saturday when the Blues take on Everton at Goodison Park.

“My teammates at Chelsea have received me very well and I am gradually getting used to the environment and the culture that exist within the club,” Baba said.

“I am here to fight to get to the top in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

“I think that I haven’t fulfilled even half of that ambition.”

Having spent a season-long loan at Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko from Dreams FC, Baba joined German side Greuther Furth in 2012, before moving to Augsburg in 2014.
