I will play for Kotoko in the next world – Polo

Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed

Mohammed Ahmed ‘Polo’ has said that should he have the opportunity to play in the next world, he will never play for former club Hearts of Oak because they are ungrateful.

The former Ghana international who played for Phobians in his playing days regrets putting on the rainbow shirt because supporters of the club are not as generous and appreciative as that of Kumasi Asante Kotoko fans.

Emmanuel Duah played for both Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, unfortunately he is down with stroke now. Within the week, Emmanuel Agyemang Duah said Hearts of Oak don’t show support like Kotoko fans do to him.

And Mohammed Polo has jumped to echo the comments of Duah.

“Hearts do not help their players at all, if I’m to resurrect from my death, I would play for Kotoko. Looking at the way Kotoko support their players for me it’s awesome’’, Polo told Kumasi-based Boss FM.

“I remember one instance both Hearts and Kotoko players were at Black Stars camp and the way the Kotoko supporters came there to show their appreciation to their players among us, it was wonderful and a memorable one.

“Sunday Ibrahim and Abdul Razak won the African Best Players because of the support Kotoko always give to their players unlike Hearts Of Oak. At Hearts, they don’t even care if you’ll die, so for me there is difference between the two (clubs).

“Look at how I’m suffering. Kotoko supporters are very good that is why almost all the players who played for the team are progressing in life. Look at Maxwell Konadu and others. In fact, I cannot say I’m the best coach in Ghana but for as a player I don’t think anyone comes near me. It’s very painful.

“Even the Kotoko supporters like me. So for me If I’m to resurrect after my birth I would like to play for Kotoko due to the way they support their players.’’

Mohammed Polo guided Hearts Of Oak to third position in the 2013/14 season but was heavily abused throughout his stay with the club until his unfortunate exit at the end of the season.
