Impressed Attuquayefio fancies Hearts chances

Accra, June 7, GNA - Liberty Professionals coach, Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio is fancying his former club, Accra Hearts of Oak's chances in the Premiership after his team lost narrowly to the Phobians in their eighth-week Gt Premier League played at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

"Hearts was a transformed side today and they seem to have settled very well after the initial setbacks. I'm very convinced if they can keep their composure, they will go far in the league", he said. The former Phobian coach told the GNA Sports that though his team has recorded some great results in the league, they fared below expectation and it was apparent that the defending league champions were more determined to pluck home the maximum points.

Coach Attuquayefio expressed the conviction about the challenge that Hearts possess adding that "if their output today is anything to go by then they would go places".

On the game's outcome, the 2000 Coach of the Year who joined Liberty from Hearts before the commencement of the season refused to call their loss a set back.

"We came into the game wanting to win, but a loss against 'mighty Hearts' cannot be seen as a set back. We respect them and give credit for their effort".

He said that Liberty would build on their current form in their quest to grab a respectable place when the season's curtain is lowered later in the year.

The coach who would enjoy the luxury of introducing back-to-back William Tiero into his envious attaching machinery which has Peter Ofori Quaye, Michael Osei and slippery Michael Helegbe, is hopeful that Liberty will remain the team to beat when the season resumes. Coach Attuquayefio told the GNA Sports that he intends offering Tiero an automatic place in the team.

"Knowing who Teiro is and his capabilities, I will surely give him a first team place provided he passes his fitness test". 07 June 05
