In-form Adu Kofi hopeful of debut Ghana call up

Malmo midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi remains hopeful of earning his debut Ghana call up having been a consistent performer in Europe this season.

The 24-year-old has been an instant hit since joining the Swedish club following his abortive move to Club Brugge.

The ex Nordsjaelland man hugely impressed in Malmo’s Champions League win over Olympakos on Wednesday night.

He was however surprisingly overlooked by interim Ghana boss Maxwell Konadu in his latest squad for this month’s 2015 AFCON qualifiers against Guinea – a situation that shocks Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah.

But the ex Ghana youth star remains hopeful his chance will eventually come especially with his surging form at club level.

“As long as I am a Ghanaian I am looking forward to that (a call-up to the Black Stars),” Adu Kofi told Accra-based Starr FM

“Like Kwadwo [Asamoah]is saying, it’s taken too long and I have been expecting them but I have not got the chance, so I hope they will call me to come and help my nation.

“Most of the boys are my peers- Rabiu, Dede [Andre Ayew], Kwadwo.”

Adu Kofi spent some time at Stabaek before joining Malmo where his career appears to be on the rise once more again.
