Injured Agyemang Badu to return after eight weeks

Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is expected to be on the sidelines for eight weeks after successfully undergoing a surgery on Wednesday.

Agyemang Badu, who sustained a knee injury whilst playing for Ghana in the quarter- finals of the Africa Cup of Nations against Tunisia told GNA Sports that the operation was successfully conducted in Rome, Italy.

He said even though the maximum recovery rate could be eight weeks, doctors have assured him that his recovery could take at least six weeks.

Agyemang Badu was confident he would recover on time to feature for both club and country.

The midfielder was one of the influential members of the team during the Nations Cup campaign and is well remembered for scoring a spectacular goal against Tunisia.

His absence in the team was hugely felt when Ghana played Zambia and missed the third place against Mali as well.
