Sulley Muntari will be presented to the Italian media as Inter’s latest signing on Monday, the Serie A champions have announced.
The Ghana international has put the finishing touches to his move from the Premier League side and joins Inter for a reported €14 million (£11 million) where he will link up with Jose Mourinho.
Inter have announced that the powerful midfielder, who played five seasons for Udinese in Serie A, will be paraded to the press at 11am.
Muntari joined Pompey for £7 million last summer and really caught the eye in the centre of midfield as the South Coast side won the FA Cup and finished eighth in the league table.
After making 33 appearances for Harry Redknapp’s side he has now joined one of European football’s heavyweights and a club that has ambitions of claiming a fourth consecutive Serie A title in the coming season.
Muntari’s arrival at the Nerazzurri will naturally lead to suggestions that Inter are now prepared to be patient in their pursuit of Chelsea’s Frank Lampard, who is out of contract in 12 months time.
Portsmouth, meanwhile, are reportedly keen to use the money generated by his sale to finance a move for Shaun Wright-Phillips.
