Accra Hearts of Oak skipper Mahatma Otoo has described their 2012-13 Ghana Premier League campaign as a “miraculous” one with the Phobians finishing on the 5th log after a very difficult campaign in the first round of the league.
Otoo scored a hat-trick on the final day of the season against Tema Youth on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium to earn him the Premier League top-scoring accolade with 20 goals.
The 20-time Ghana top-flight champions lost only one match in the second half of the season after a difficult first half of the season which saw them pine on the relegation zone.
“We have come a long way looking at where we started in the second round, to God be the glory,” Otoo opined to Goal Ghana.
“I think it is a miraculous performance looking at the league season - we lost only one match during the second round which is not usual, so we have to thank the Almighty God for bringing us to the end of a successful season.”
Otoo added: “When the league started my aim was to help the team win the league, but it didn’t happen so I think the goal-king is a blast to the supporters and I think they love it.”
