Former Accra representative of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Jerry Asare has formally declared his intention to contest the position of Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) of the club.
Mr. Asare, who spoke to Space fm in Sunyani on Thursday, said his desire to lead Kotoko stems from his love for the club coupled with his wish to see the porcupine warriors reach greater heights in Ghana, Africa and the world over. Mr Asare said he has gained enough experience for the job, through his roles in various managements at different times in the Club?s history and therefore has what it takes to put the porcupine warriors back on the African map.
Asked about his plans for Kotoko if given the nod, the man who is popularly known as ?Mr Yemmo biem? in reference to his action during this year?s abandoned top four match between Kototko and Harts of Lions, said he will strengthen existing structures of the club to make Kotoko financially sound and independent. He however, reiterated that the days when the club depended on the board members and benevolent individuals to fund the club should be a thing of the past.
On whether he would bring in some members of the current management if he becomes CEO, he declared ?I am ready to work with anyone who is competent and has the love for Kotoko?.
