Jordan Ayew available for loan

Marseille chairman Jean-Claude Dassier has revealed that Jordan Ayew may be loaned out in January.

The teenage striker is regarded as a hot prospect at Stade Velodrome, where he has progressed through the academy ranks.

He has made a handful of senior appearances so far but it is felt that his development would be better served with regular action.

With that in mind, Dassier admits the 19-year-old Ghana international could be allowed to leave in the New Year in order to get the games he needs.

"A possible Jordan Ayew transfer? A loan is a possibility," he told L'Equipe.

"Coach Didier Deschamps will think about it and that could be the only transfer of the winter window."

Meanwhile, Dassier has offered his support to Marseille's misfiring frontmen.

Expectations

The reigning Ligue 1 champions spent big over the summer in order to bolster their attacking arsenal, bringing in France internationals Loic Remy and Andre-Pierre Gignac.

Unfortunately both men have yet to scale the heights expected of them, but Dassier remains confident the pair will soon recapture their best form and prove their worth.

"The trouble is that our attack line is not working as well as we had hoped," he added.

"But I am not worried. Our reinforcements will live up to our expectations.

"I never felt for a second that we were making a mistake in signing the top scorer from the 2008/09 season (Gignac).

"Gignac is powerful and impressive. He will be an essential asset.

"Remy is still settling in, but he will come good. He is growing in the team."
