West Ham United have expressed interest in signing want-away Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew.

According to UK tabloid, The Telegraph, the 24-year-old is being courted by the Hammer after reports emerged he will be sold out in the summer.

Ayew, who joined the struggling English side from Lorient, has emerged as the side's most influential player.

The Ghana international will be signed by West Ham as a replacement for Christian Benteke who has joined Liverpool.

The former Marseille attacker has netted five times in 21 appearances for Remi Garde's men.

The Ghanaian will leave Upton Park in the summer with West Ham believed to be one of his key admirers.

Ayew has shown promise in England, and West Ham may well be willing to take a chance on him, but his recent actions at Upton Park would make any move from the Hammers a real surprise.

Ayew was sent off for Aston Villa as they lost 2-0 in East London last month, as he lashed out at left back Aaron Cresswell, which prompted Hammers co-chairman David Gold to take to Twitter and suggest Ayew's actions were 'complete madness'.
