The Ghana midfielder shared an image of Wesley Sneijder celebrating with the Turkish Cup

Kevin-Prince Boateng may have dropped a major hint as to his preference for a summer transfer by retweeting an image shared by Wesley Sneijder celebrating after Galatasaray’s Turkish Cup victory.

The Ghana midfielder looks set to leave Schalke 04 this summer following the breakdown of his relationship with club CEO Horst Held.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man was reportedly released by the club earlier this season following a poor performance in an away defeat against FC Koln in the Bundesliga. Schalke ultimately confirmed that the 28-year-old had merely been suspended, although the mistranslation merely looks like being a precursor to a summer departure.

The box-to-box midfielder has been linked to a litany of clubs, with the Gazzetta dello Sport reporting interest from Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls. The MLS outfit have since distanced themselves from a move, but Corriere della Sera reported that Lazio were also keen on the player.

ESPN have also linked Inter Milan with a return move for the ex-Rossoneri man.

Galatasaray are also rumoured to be keen on the midfielder, and according to AMK, are preparing a €1.5 million per-season contact for the Black Star.

It is believed that a fee of €5 million would be enough to acquire KPB, although considering their desire to offload the player, Schalke may well accept a reduced sum. Boateng also only has one year left on his contract at the Veltins-Arena.

Gala completed a domestic double this season, winning both the Turkish Super Lig title and lifting the Turkiyie Kupasi after beating Bursaspor 3-2 in the final following a hat-trick from Burak Yilmaz.

Prince began his career in Germany, with Hertha Berlin, before moving to England in 2007. He returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in 2009 before completing a permanent move to Portsmouth in 2009.

He subsequently featured for Genoa and Milan, before switching to Schalke in 2013.
