In another sign showing his desire to make a return for Ghana, Kevin-Prince Boateng desperately searched for the opportunity to watch the Black Stars thrash Sudan 4-0 on Sunday, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

A source close to the player has told GHANAsoccernet.com that Boateng was thoroughly satisfied with the performance of the Black Stars as they thrashed the Nile Crocodiles in the 2014 World Cup qualifying game.

The insider said prior to Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Kumasi, the AC Milan star was concerned about the outcome of the game for Ghana which led him to watch the game on the internet.

According to the source, Boateng searched various satellites television stations in Italy to see if he could get the chance to watch the Black Stars play the Sudanese.

But his attempts failed which resulted in Boateng taking to social media to ask for internet links where he could watch the Black Stars in smashing form. He asked his hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter about where he could watch the match and the Ghanaian following him gladly provided him with links to watch the match.

“Relaxing at home. Rainy Sunday!! What u all doing? Does anyone know where I can see the Ghana-Sudan game?what channel??bless u all,” Boateng asked his followers on Twitter.

The revelation is a massive boost to the hopes of many Ghanaians who want the Germany-born midfielder to return to playing for the Black Stars ahead of the 2014 World Cup. Friends have said that Boateng is keen on returning to play for Ghana nearly one year after quitting the national team.

Boateng, who was born in Germany to a Ghanaian father, shocked the country when he announced his decision to leave the Black Stars without any provocation. The AC Milan star called time on his international career in November last year after claiming combing national and club duties was taking a toll on his health. His shocking announcement came after his short association with the Ghana national team at the 2010 World Cup earned him a big-money move to AC Milan when his career was going nowhere with relegated English side Portsmouth.

Boateng, who switched nationality from Germany to play for Ghana, had two high-profile visits from the Ghana FA to urge him to reconsider his decision. He turned down the pleas for his return after GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi went to meet him in Milan and a subsequent visit from the current coach Kwesi Appiah failed to convince him.
