Kenya not keen on Ghana tie

Kenyan National team coach Mohammed Kheri is apprehensive about playing Ghana in an international build-up match next week.

Kheri said Friday the match comes too close before they take on Botswana in an Africa Cup of Nations/World Cup qualifier at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC), Kasarani.

"Incase we get injuries there will be no time to heal," Kheri complained.

He said Botswana might also be in town then and it will be easy for them to have a peep at Stars before the two sides clash.

"Botswana will send spies to watch our game to help them plan against us," he warned.

Kheri said talks are still on-going about the build-up match.

However on a positive note, Kheri noted that the build-up could give him an opportunity to build-up winning combination for the March 26 encounter.

Ghana are expected in Nairobi on Tuesday. Two officials from the Ghana FA are already in Nairobi to prepare the team?s training stay ahead of their match against DRC Congo in Kinshasa next week.

Kheri said time was fast running out and he is hoping to get all players in camp for at least three days before they take on Botswana.

With Tusker players having travelled to Cairo for an Africa Champion League match against Zamalek the Stars camp has only 14 players.
