Kevin Prince Boateng to miss Ghana key matches

Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng could miss this month’s crucial African Cup of Nations clash with Congo and the England friendly because of an ankle injury.

AC Milan have written to the Ghana FA to alert them of the troubling right ankle problem that is threatening to curtail his season, officials have told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The Italian side have told the GFA that the injury could prevent the Ghana key player from travelling to Kenya for the Black Stars camp next week ahead of the matches against Congo and England.

He aggravated the ankle problem during training on Wednesday which could rule him out of the two important matches later this month.

Despite the warning, AC Milan have revealed that he has not been completely ruled out as he could recover for the weekend’s clash with Palermo

Boateng missed Saturday’s clash with Bari because of the problem and only returned to training and the injury resurfaced.

This means Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic must prepare to find a replacement for the midfielder with striker Emmanuel Clottey and defender Mohammed Awal on the stand-bye list.
