King Faisal win special Valco Hall Week match

Cape Coast, Mar. 22, GNA - Two quick goals scored by outside right Abubakar Yahuza in the second- half enabled Kumasi King Faisal to beat Valco Hall of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) 2-1 in a special match played at Cape Coast on Saturday.

The match was organised by the Hall in connection with its annual Hall Week celebrations on the theme "Reaching Out To People Living With HIV/AIDS - The Role of University Students".

King Faisal, who paraded five of their regular players made up of Yahuza, Shilla Illiasu, Ibrahim Lawel, Maxwell Oduro and Muniru Yahaya were closely matched by the Valco boys to bring the first half goalless.

On resumption, Valco gained the upper hand and following a series of attacks into their opponents' vital area, inside right Asare Wilson, exploited a defensive blunder to score the match opener in the 61st minute.

King Faisal threw everything into attack when they realised their prestige was at stake and got the equaliser through Yahuza shortly after and continued to pile pressure on the Valco lads and no wonder they got the second goal barely seven minutes later through enterprising Yahuza again who was adjudged hero of the match.

In another encounter, the Hall's Women's Soccer team also lost 2-0 to the Ghana Telecom Women's team.
