Kingston Deal to Hearts Delayed

Hearts head coach Valdas Ivanauskas has put on hold the proposed transfer of Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston.

The 26-year-old left Lokomotiv Moscow and travelled to Edinburgh with a view to signing for Scottish Premier league side Heart of Midlothian FC.

But he may have to wait until the end of the week before completing his move to the Tynecastle side.

Ivanauskas told www.bbc.co.uk: "There are still a few things to work out before Laryea can join us.

"We should know before the end of the week but he is not on trial."

Ivanauskas is hoping defender Robbie Neilson makes a speedy recovery after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

Kingston, who can play full-back and in midfield, is a colourful character, having missed last year's World Cup finals after picking up a four-match ban for fighting with Senegal's Habib Beye.

Another suspension, for dropping his shorts at opposing fans whilst playing for the Ghanaian side Hearts of Oak, may have helped put off Newcastle, Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers, who were all said to be tracking the 26-year-old.
