Kotoko Refuse To Extend Karim Zito's Contract

The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has failed to renew the contract of Coach Karim Zito after his one year contract with the club elapsed at the end of this soccer season.

A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the club Mr Javis Peprah and copied to AUTHENTIC KAPITAL SPORTS,indicated that the Management held seperate meetings with Coach Emmanuel Akwasi Afranie and Karim Zito at the club's secretariat in Kumasi where the decision was taken.

According to the statement the meeting which was to enable management make informed decision with regards to the restructuring of the technical team for next season also recommended Coach E.K Afranie to the Board for approval as the substantive technical manager of the club.

It will be recalled that Coach Karim Zito was released to Kotoko by Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy upon reqest by Kotoko to assist former Head coach Malik Jabir.Zito took over t! he job as Head coach of the club after Malik Jabir was sacked by the Kotoko management.

Coach Afranie then took over from Zito as a stop-gape coach after armed robbers attacked Zito in Accra to aid Kotoko win it's 20th league title this season.
