Kotoko coach warns title race not over

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has refused to declare his side Ghana Premier League champions despite going 12 points clear following the derby win over Hearts.

The Porcupine Warriors struck late through a wonder Michael Akuffo strike to secure their first win in seven years over their arch rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium.

This was after Mahatma Otoo had pulled Hearts level through a well struck free kick in injury time to cancel a first half Kofi Nti-Boakye's goal.

It was a great way to sign off in a highly entertaining game and after celebrating the feat with his players in front of the home crowd, Konadu insists the job is not yet done.

''We have not won the league but this win certainly takes us closer to that goal,'' the club's ex-striker told MTNFootball.com

''We still have some matches to go so we cannot declare ourselves winners yet but we feel we are on track to winning the title.''

It will be the first time in four-years the league title will be heading to Kumasi if Kotoko maintain its lead for the next six matches.
