Kotoko defender flees to South Africa in search of a club

Reports gathered by Ghanasportsonline.com indicate that Asante Kotoko center-back Kwabena Adusei has fled to South Africa in search of a Club without informing his Club officials.

This came after management of the Ghana Champions failed to comply with a demanding fee from the 27-year-old following his contract expiration at the Club.

The former Tema Youth and Kessben FC player is therefore reported to be in South Africa looking for a new Club although the management of Asante Kotoko has decided to grant him his demands.

“He had demanded some money before he signs a new contract with the Club, but when the money was ready he was nowhere to be found,” acting spokesperson of Asante Kotoko, Ali Maradona told Accra-based Peace FM.

“So the team manager went to his house to look for him and what we heard was that he has travelled. His wife even said she doesn’t know his where about. So we later on found out that he has left to South Africa,” he added.

“Once the player has asked you to make the money available before he signs a new contract, you have no option,” he concluded.

In May this year, it was reported that the aggressive center-half was linked with a move to South African side Mpumalanga Black Aces after his impressive performance with the local Black Stars at the CHAN tournament in South Africa, but Adusei later on denied the move indicating is was just a rumor.

Adusei signed for the Porcupine Warriors in 2012 from Premier league side Medeama SC.
