The management of Kotoko has denied that striker, Nathaniel Asamoah, whose signature the club is seeking has demanded GHc100,000 or 1billion old cedis before he signs contract documents at the club.
Nathaniel, who will be returning to Kotoko for the second time if negotiations go well, met managers of the club on Monday at the club secretariat, Kumasi.
Following what could be described as purposeful discussions, the striker, and his manager promised to return later in the week.
“He has not made any demand for GH?100,000 or 1billion old cedis some media houses have been reporting,” said General Manager, Opoku Nti in an interview with Asantekotokosc.com.
“There’s no truth in that. We’ve met the player and his manager. They’re expected back on Wednesday after the initial meeting. I’m putting on record that, Nathaniel Asamoah hasn’t made the demands sections of the media have been reporting” added the General Manager.
Opoku Nti, therefore, asked Kotoko fans to disregard any story that differs from what the club’s management or official media outlets put out especially on Nathaniel Asamoah’s possible return to Kotoko.
“Our fans shouldn’t believe those media reports except the ones we have published. In consultation with the technical team, management has shown interest in the player. We’ve taken the necessary steps but again, the 1billion story isn’t true.” the General Manager stressed.
