Kotoko fans divided over Duncan's imminent appointment

David Duncan imminent appointment as new Kotoko coach has sharply divided the supporters’ front, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The ex-Hearts of Oak tactician is in line to replace Mas-Ud Dramani, who has been asked to proceed on leave following the side’s unflattering start to the new campaign.

Duncan, hugely touted as one of the country’s finest brains, is seen as an outsider for the top job.

Ex-Kotoko chief executive Jarvis Peprah accused him of harbouring an unbridled hatred for the club during his time at Hearts of Oak.

He came under fire for claiming appointments of national team coaches were not based on merit but on ‘political’ grounds.

His claim that ONLY Kotoko coaches were engaged for the various national teams is one of the reasons some are kicking against his employment.

While others see him as the man with the right attitude to stem the tide, those pushing against his appointment are questioning his commitment and loyalty to the record Ghanaian League title holders.

The former Ashantigold trainer has held advanced negotiations with the Kumasi-based side and will sign the dotted lines once both parties are satisfied with the agreement.
