Kotoko hold crisis meeting

The management of Asante Kotoko has held a crisis meeting in Kumasi to restore sanity with some aggrieved supporters calling for heads to roll, following the team’s 0-1 loss to archrivals, Hearts of Oak, at the Baba Yara Stadium, on Sunday.

The meeting convened at the instance of the General Manager, Samuel Opoku Nti, was to find a headway in the wake on increasing pressure from the club followers.

Kotoko skipper, Jordan Opoku, and other players who had been accused of sabotage, had to be whisked away by security personnel soon after the match as some disgruntled supporters threatened to vent their spleen on them.

The supporters are demanding a total overhaul, including the technical team which has been cited for ineptness. Coach Mas-Ud Dramani has for some time now lived under the scrutiny of the supporters, accusing him of lacking the temperament for big games.

“We do not think this team is committed to the Fabulous cause and as such the right thing must be done”, K. Twum, an executive member of the Kotoko Circles Council told the GNA Sports.

Information gathered indicated that there has been counter-accusations amongst some senior players over their conduct on the field of play.

Meanwhile, Opoku Nti has apologized to the teeming supporters and asked them to exercise restraint for sanity to prevail to bring the team back to form.
