Kotoko are making a late push for their former defender Rashid Sumaila, GHANAsoccernet.com understands
The 23-year-old has endured difficult to life this season at Mamelodi Sundowns and considering a move away from the South African side.
Sundowns have filled their quota for foreign players with no signs of the Ghanaian international, meaning he will need to find a new club to stay active and fight his way back into the Black Stars.
Kotoko are planning to bring him to Kumasi to give him a lifeline with fears his international career could be curtailed if doesn’t play regularly.
Sumaila is not new to Kotoko having featured for them on loan from relegated Ebusua Dwarfs.
He was part of Ghana’s 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil but lost his place in the team due to lack of playing time and recurrent injuries.
He will be eligible to play for the Porcupine Warriors as he falls within the special dispensation category.
