Asante Kotoko are planning a pre-season tour of Spain to prepare for the arduous task of defending the league and FA Cup titles.
This will be the third time the Porcupine Warriors would be training in Europe before the start of the local calendar.
In 2007, Kotoko camped in Germany and were in Serbia to prepare in 2012.
The club is yet to confirm the dates for their trip but have made necessary contacts with travel agency Inter-World Travel and tour.
“As defending champions on the Premiership level, the expectation will be that the team wins the title again. The big expectation will be that we perform well in Africa. Our performance has been less impressive in Africa. We have to improve,” Operations Manager George Kennedy told the club’s official newspaper.
“This programme in Spain will be helpful as the technical team will be looking at putting the team in the right shape before the football season opens.”
Last season, Kotoko camped in the Northern Regional capital Tamale and headed down South to finalize his preparations.
