Kumordzi urges Genk to be mentally positive

...ahead of Europa tie with Anhzi

Ghana midfielder Bennard Kumordzi has issued a rallying call to his KRC Genk team-mates to maintain their positive mentality as they go into Thursday’s Europe League tie with Russian side Anzhi.

The experienced 27-year-old is expected to play a key role for the under-performing Pro League side as they travel to Russia to face Anzhi at the Stadion Saturn.

And Kumordzi wants his side to translate their mentality which helped them to beat Lierse SK on Sunday to their game against Anzhi.

“We certainly hope to do as well as in the group stages. In Europe, we must bring the same mentality on Thursday against Lierse,” he said.

The Ghanaian came in to replace Camus in the Genk starting place in midfield, and his performance was credit for Genk’s victory.

“I received the same instructions as I did in the KV Mechelen game. It is a slightly different role for me, but I play where the coach needs me, I also feel that I am still making progress.”
