Kwesi Appiah is demanding consistency from Ghana’s CHAN players if they are to make his squad for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
The senior national team coach was in South Africa to monitor the performance of the players as they won silver- losing on penalties in the final to Libya.
Appiah has said his doors are opened and was prepared to hand any member of the team a call-up for the World Cup if fits the bill.
He will continue monitoring the performance of the players in the domestic league before finalizing his squad.
“On our side, most of the players did well. I however don’t base my selection on a few numbers of matches. They have to be playing well continuously for some time before I can make final and proper judgement,” said Appiah in an exclusive interview with Kotoko Express in Pretoria, South Africa.
“The team was impressive; about 80 to 90 percent of players who had not been to competitions like this usually wouldn’t perform well.
“They panic but our players were brave. There was improvement after every game and for me that was good”.
Goalkeeper Stephen Adams, Kwabena Adusei and Yahaya Mohammed are said to have impressed at the tournament and could gatecrash Ghana’s squad.
