LICO Donates to Three Clubs

Gemini Life Insurance Company (GLICO) last Friday donated assorted food and drinks valued at five million cedis to the three clubs participating in the on-going CAF League.

The package was received by the Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Tommy Okine on behalf of the three clubs; Asante Kotoko, Obuasi Goldfields and Accra Hearts of Oaks at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Managing Director of GLICO, Mr. Acheampong Kyei said after twelve years of sponsoring the national team, it is now time to give their support to local teams that may qualify for international tournaments.

"The desire to develop and promote a closer relation among sportsmen and women is our concern," he said.

He said very soon there would be the need to insure sportsmen and women to protect them in case of injury or accident.

Mr. Tommy Okine and Ato Ahwoi Chairman of the Board of the Accra Hearts of Oak thanked the company for the kind gesture and asked the company to continue with its generosity.

The items donated included five bags of rice, ten cartons of milk, two cartons of Milo, some crates of eggs and some Voltic mineral water.
