Laryea Kingston Slapped

Accra Hearts of Oak's reliable midfielder; Laryea Kingston went through an unfortunate incident at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday when a soccer fan slapped him for not playing in the Hearts match against Brong Ahafo United. The incident occurred near the Sports Hall of the stadium but before the player could answer the charges, other supporters pounced on the attacking fan and gave him a sound beating which resulted in a cut in his face before he was whisked away by security men.

According to an eyewitness account, the fan who is alleged to be a Hearts fan asked the player why he was not playing for the team against B. A. United. The player was reported to have told the fan that he was sick but this did not satisfy the fan who accused the player of playing truant.

Since his return from Saudi Arabia, Laryea has been a key figure in the Hearts set up playing a key role in their second leg match against AS Aviacao of Angola in the CAF Champions league preliminaries. He scored the match winner against King Faisal at the Kumasi Sports Stadium in their fifth week league match.

Meanwhile an officials of Hearts confirmed to the GNA Sports prior to the match that, the player was sick hence his absence from the team sheet. Hearts' team sheet was made up of only 15 players instead of 18 and without a reserve goalkeeper.
