Legia Warsaw reject Addy

Polish giants Legia Warsaw have passed on the chance to sign free agent Ghana defender David Addy.

The left-back made a surprise exit from Belgian side Waasland-Beveren this summer despite being a major feature for the side in 33 games in his first season.

Addy, 25, was recently recommended by one of Legia Warsaw’s close player agencies with reports further claiming a supposed €12 000 monthly salary and €300 000 signing-on fee had been agreed for the former FC Porto man.

Legia Warsaw, who currently place third after six matches in the new Polish Premier League season, are actually in the market for a competitor to regular left-back Tomasz Brzyski but the Capital club, according to Legia.net, declined the opportunity to sign the Ghana international.

The European transfer window shuts after August 31 but Addy’s status as a free player allows him to sign for any club outside the window.
