Losing to Guinea can bring us home- Kwabena Yeboah

Ghana need not be complacent;

Ace senior sports journalist, Kwabena Yeboah has conveyed that Ghana cannot lose the game against Guinea in their last group D match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

According to him, to guarantee a place in the quarter finals at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations, the worst the black stars can play for is a draw.

The Black Stars of Ghana on Saturday underlined their superiority over their West African neighbours Mali with a hard fought 2-0 victory in the second Group D game in Franceville, Gabon.

The second straight win puts Ghana on six points, Guinea and Mali on three apiece and Botswana out of the running after two losses.

However, in an interview with Xfm 95.1 from his base in Gabon, Kwabena Yeboah conceived that even with Ghana¹s three point lead, the game against Guinea can end the Black Stars¹ dream if caution is not taken as it will be a very though match.

³If you do your calculations and mathematics well, you will see that we are yet to qualify. It is important to at least get a point against Guinea. Touchwood, if Ghana loses that match against Guinea and Mali beat Botswana; our qualification into the next round will be difficult².

³Guinea has proven to be one of the best teams in the competition; it¹s very unfortunate they lost their first match?..Guinea played better than us(Ghana), ironically they conceded a goal and never bounced back so they lost a their game². He added.

Mr. Yeboah who is also the editor for African Sports lamented how the stars struggled to beat Botswana while Guinea trashed the Zebras by 6 goals to one with adept ball possession exhibited.

Kwabena Yeboah also evaluated some players of the Guinea team including Ibrahima Traore who he said was their play maker and prayed Goran Stevanovic will find a solution to him.

³I am praying the mood between the Black Stars and the Malians match will be the same mood to approach GuineaŠas I indicated, we have not qualified yet², the veteran sports journalist added.

Mr. Yeboah thinks Ghana¹s qualification to the next round will be unmanageable if the stars do not winŠ.. ³Don¹t forget Guinea hit Six goal pass Botswana, it will be very tricky if CAF apply the Head to Head method².
