MTN FA Cup top scorer Elvis Opoku close to sealing move to Asante Kotoko

Gold Stars striker Elvis Opoku has revealed he is close to sealing a move to giants Asante Kotoko.

The young striker is in high demand after emerging the top scorer in the MTN FA Cup with seven goals.

Opoku was handed his top scorer’s prize at the 4th edition of the FA Cup awards ceremony held on Saturday at the State House in Accra.

And though he is strongly linked to moves to AshantiGold and Medeama, Opoku says Kotoko are more likely to secure his future.

“I am supposed to hold talks with Medeama and AshantiGold, who have also expressed interest in me,” he revealed to GHANAsoccernet.com.

“But I think I will sign for Kotoko. We have gone far with discussions, so I think I will sign for Kotoko.”

Opoku was part of the Kotoko youth team that recently traveled to Switzerland for a tournament – giving a strong indication he will be signing for the Ghana Premier League champions.
