Marcel Desailly would have to pay his own assistants

Footy-ghana.com understands that the hot favorite for the Black Stars coaching job, Marcel Desailly would have to pay for any assistants he would want to bring in.

According to well-placed sources from within the Ghana Football Association, this is a practice that is not new since the likes of Claude Le Roy, Ratomir Djukovic and Goran Stevanovic all brought in assistants and paid them from their own pockets.

Footy-ghana.com has however learnt that no matter how many assistants are brought in, the GFA would insist on Kwasi Appiah remaining part of the Black Stars backroom staff.

According to our sources, the move is to ensure that Appiah continues his education as a possible candidate for the top job in the future.

Desailly is widely rumoured to be keen on bringing in former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins to help, should he land the job.

An announcement on who gets the job is expected by the beginning of next week.
