Ghana striker Matthew Amoah climbed off the bench to score the match-winning goal for Heracles Almelo in their 2-1 victory over NEC Nimegen in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday.
The experienced 33-year-old had replaced German international Marc Uth in the 58th minute and laboured to score the all-important goal for the visitors at the Goffertstadion.
Nimegen took an early lead through Michael Hidgon who scored in the 20th minute but Jason Davidson equalised for Heracles 11 minutes from time.
Heracles were reduced to ten men but their numerical disadvantage could not deter them as Amoah scored in the 5th minute of second-half added-time to claim the maximum points for Heracles.
It was his 4th goal of the season for Heracles.
Compatriot Kwame Quansah lasted the entire 90 minutes of the tie for Heracles but Edwin Gyasi could not make the squad for the game.
