Bashir Hayford has been asked to proceed on leave until further notice by Medeama SC, just after one match into the new season.
Medeama lost their season opener 2-1 at home against Wa All Stars on Sunday and have moved to make changes to their technical set-up.
Despite the Tarkwa-based side announcing on Tuesday the decision, Hayford denied having received any communication to that effect from the club.
The coach, however, insisted that he would abide by the club's decision.
"Let us leave it [decision] as it is. If they insist I am tired and that I need to go on leave, I would do as told," Hayford said on radio.
According to the club, assistant coach Yusif Abubakar and Emmanuel Adotey will prepare the team for this week’s encounter with Aduana Stars in Dormaa.
