Medeama loan Seth Owusu

Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club have confirmed defender Seth Owusu has joined Major League Soccer side Chivas USA on loan.

The left-back joined Polish side Legia Warszawa for a trial period last week but could not reach a deal with the Eastern European side.

“We have agreed to transfer him to Chivas USA and he will return to the club in December,” Club president Moses Armah told the club’s official website www.medeamasc.com.

“We are confident this will help the young chap gain experience for a bigger move to Europe.

“This is only the beginning and we will to wish him well at his new club. He has the experience and knows what is ahead of him so he can’t disappoint. We expect him to come back better than he’s leaving us.”

Owusu is expecting to play for the side in their opener at home against Sporting Kansas City on 19 March.

Last October, he was named in a Ghana squad picked for a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan at home but never made his debut.
