Milan loans Boateng to Catania

Ghanaian striker Kingsley Boateng has joined Italian Serie A side Catania on a season-long loan from AC Milan.

Milan have confirmed the deal, which allows the Sicilian club to purchase a 50 per cent stake in the teenager if he impresses.

Boateng cannot be guaranteed game time with the presence of Stephan El Shaarawy, Mario Balotelli, M’Baye Niang, Giampaolo Pazzini and Robinho at the San Siro.

The 19-year-old has been impressive for Max Allegri in the off-season. Boateng was born in Ghana but he has appeared for the Italian national side at youth team level.

He has signed a new deal with Milan, which keeps him at the club until 2017.
