Sulley Muntari will not play a part in Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Lesotho on Sunday.
The midfielder picked up a toe injury in training in Bloemfontein yesterday and told KickOffGhana that tests showed that he will be unable to step out for Ghana when they line up against Lesotho at the Free State Stadium on Sunday.
Medical sources within the team said that the injury will take time to heal but they are confident the Portsmouth man will be able to recover in time for the game against Gabon in Libreville two Sundays hence.
Muntari’s injury could open the way for a place in the starting line up for Celta Vigo man Quincy Owusu Abeyie or the Locomotive Moscow midfielder Haminu Dramani, who replaced him in the second half in the 3-0 win over Libya. Save & Share
