Newly appointed technical adviser of Hearts of Oak, Can Vanli in his first public interview in Ghana has stated that his immediate mission is to help the Accra giants survive in the league.

The Phobians are currently at the 15th position with 32 points, with four games to end of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Bank Premier League and the former premier league champions can’t afford to drop points in their remaining games.

However, their newly appointed technical adviser, Can Vanli from Turkey arrived in Ghana Sunday and was in Hearts of Oak’s dug out in their 1-0 away win over Liberty Professionals on Wednesday at the Dansoman Park on match day 26 of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier.

The 53 year old Turkish tactician in his maiden engagement with the Ghanaian media after Hearts of Oak 1-0 win over Liberty Professionals said, his immediate mission is to help Hearts of Oak survive in the league.

“We will face this challenge and we started to face the challenge in Liberty game, we will bring Hearts of Oak back to the rightful position on the league table. My mission is to help Hearts survive in the league and it is my first priority but I’m sure we will survive, I’m sure we will reach our target,” Vanli said.

The former Safa FC trainer revealed that his contract with the Phobians is only for 5 premier league games.

“My contract is for the five matches and if I reach my target we will talk about this, I want to keep my concentration to improve Hearts of Oak to survive, this is the highest target and we will talk later about the future because Hearts of Oak is a big club,” he added

Can Vanli next assignment in Hearts of Oak’s dug out is a crucial league game against another relegation threatening side Bechem Utd at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.
