My team is more than ready for Africa - Herbert Addo

Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak says that looking at the performance of the playing body, he is confident the team is very ready to participate in the CAF Confederations Cup next year.

The Phobians received the nod to represent the nation at the next edition of the CAF Confederations Cup following the withdrawal of Inter Allies due to financial reasons.

The Phobians wholeheartedly accepted the nod and are feverishly preparing for yet another journey in Africa after over five years of absence.

“We are preparing very well and I must say that the demeanor of the players, Board and Management has been good, as the entire Club is focused on making an impact when the time comes”, Coach Herbert Addo mentioned in a chat with sportscrusader.com.

“On the players, I can confidently say that my team is more than ready to make Ghana proud in Africa next year”

According to him, the delay in the league will not have much effect on the performance of the team adding that the quality of the friendly matches coupled with good training programs from the technical team will help them scale through.

“We are not really bothered and we don’t want to start making excuses because we are confident of our abilities as a team. That is why the Management and the Board have been supportive of the programs of the technical team, and so far everything is going on smoothly.”

He thanked both the Board and Hearts of Oak Management for accepting to participate in African adding that it will give the team the needed exposure for future assignments.

Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko will play in the CAF Champions League whilst Hearts will play in the Confederation Cup despite finishing third.
